Something good is happening this 29 of April 2017, let’s us welcome The Habitat on Penang Hill! This is the new attraction of Penang, a well constructed trails and activities in the wonders of flora and fauna suitable for everyone that loves nature.
With stunning facilities, the wonders of nature and perseverance to conserve the environment, The Habitat on Penang Hill is all about exciting and educational Malaysian rainforest experience. This is also the first of its kind world-class ecotourism in Malaysia.

The Habitat Penang Hill is more than a nature walk, plenty activities are available for you such as:
The Treetop Walk is a 13m HIGHEST PUBLIC viewing platform located on the plateau just above the Mid-Point Rest Area and Museum. Designed to handle up to 120 people at a time, it offers mesmerizing 360-degree views of Penang, including George Town, and serves as the highest public viewing point on the island. On a clear day the islands of Langkawi can be seen in the distance, and if you look just in front of you, Bel Retiro (the Governor of Penang’s mansion), can also be seen in all its splendor.
An extension to the trees themselves our Canopy Walk gives you a spectacular view across the hills to the state of Kedah. With multiple viewing platforms, spanning approximately 230m in length it stands at 15m at the highest point.
A few minutes walk from the Top Station of Penang Hill Funicular Railway marks the starting point of the 1.6km long The Habitat nature trail. A trail that meanders below three of the hill’s oldest historic bungalows, and through the entire stretch of The Habitat themed park.
A walk in nature can give you a sensation of wilderness you need to refresh your spirit. Take a few hours and walk away from the hectic life in the city, nature walks are great way to soothe your mind. Come to join this incredible journey of nature and remember, it is opening this 29 of April 2017!
Location and Business Hour
The Habitat opens from Daily 9:30am to 6:00 pm ( Closed on Wednesday).
It is highly accessible by the Funicular Train and also by private four-wheel drive hire that can be arranged for you just outside the Penang Botanic Gardens. There are also numerous hiking trails that start in the valley directly below near the train, and in the Penang Botanic Gardens.

How to get there?
1) GETTING TO PENANG HILL. Getting to the top Penang Hill is relatively easy and there are numerous ways to go about doing it.
2) Hiking, For the fitter and even more adventurous hiking is the way to go and there are numerous hiking trails that lead to the top of the hill. All of them are very safe, some are more strenuous than others and some longer than others, so make sure you choose the right one. The most popular walk to the top starts at the road near the Penang Botanical Gardens. You’ll see lots of people doing this walk and its quite safe.
3) By Road, for the more adventurous ascending the hill by road can be quite thrilling. The road to the top of the hill starts near the entrance to The Penang Botanical Gardens and private four-wheel drives can be hired by asking the attendant sitting in a booth just to the right of the road. If there isn’t a four-wheel drive already there he will call for one for you.
